We provide a wide range of Bird of Prey Experiences at Lavenham Falconry in Suffolk which can be given as a fantastic alternative gift, ideal for a birthday, anniversary or just a treat. We also offer educational visits and School Displays and corporate events. All of our Experience days can be purchased as gift vouchers on line, a maximum of six participants and six non-participating guests.
One Hour Experience
This is a great introduction into Falconry and Birds of Prey, you will have the opportunity to handle and fly 2 of our magnificent birds of prey (Owl and Hawk)to the glove. Your Austringer will also describe the bird being flown in detail including its hunting behaviour and natural habitat.A fantastic Bird of Prey Experience in suffolk with a 1 hr introduction

Half Day Experience
This experience is not to be forgotten and the next step up from our one hour experience allowing you to fly a variety of Birds of Prey including Hawks, and Owls. Your teacher will describe each bird in detail and about its behaviour in its natural wild state.A half day Falconry experience in suffolk flying hawks and owls and a demonstration flying a falcon on our very own site in the brett valley.

Two Hour Experience Hawk Walks
Why not take the opportunity to take out a trained hawk along one of Lavenham's fantastic footpaths and Suffolk countryside walks. You will get the chance to fly your hawk through the trees,from gate and fence posts to your glove.A fantastic insight into Birds of Prey.

Full Day Falconry in Suffolk
This is without doubt our most popular experience and is a real hands on day. We start the day with tea/coffee and biscuits and a talk on the history of falconry and a description of some of our magnificent birds we will fly during the day. You will be taught by our professional falconers to make some of the leather equipment worn by the birds and the opportunity to learn how to tie the falconers knot. We then move on to the importance of weighing Birds of Prey, explaining why and how we do this.You will be given the chance to fly a number of hawks and owls Then we are off to the local pub that serves excellent food.After lunch we will take up Harris Hawks for the afternoon flying session and set off into the fields where we have over 3000 acres to use. On our return you will be given a flying demonstration of our Gyr Saker Falcons,and Peregrines.This really is a wonderful gift and is our most popular experience practicing falconry in suffolk

The Owl Encounter Falconry in suffolk
This experience is for anyone who has a passion for Owls. You will have the opportunity to handle and fly a variety of Owls from our White Faced Scops Owl weighing six and a half ounces to our Eurasian Eagle Owl weighing over three and a half pounds. Your teacher will describe in detail about each Owl including its hunting behaviour and natural habitat. A truly wonderful unforgettable experience lasting approx 2hrs.

Falconry in suffolk half and full hunting days
We can now offer half and full days hunting with Our own bred Superior Harris Hawks. We have over 3000 acres of excellent hunting ground in Suffolk where there are plenty of quarry to be found. The day will start with one of our falconers showing you some of the techniques and methods of handling your Hawk. We will then move into the countryside to hunt rabbits. There may be a chance of flights at other prey. At approx 12 noon we will break for lunch at the local pub/ Restaurant then continue the afternoons hunting. The start time is 9.30am and finishes at 4pm.Unfortunately there are no guests allowed on our hunting days. Maximum group size is 5 people.A fantastic opportunity to practice falconry in suffolk.

Anyone wanting to own and train a Bird of Prey should first enroll in a training course. To ensure they fully understand what is involved in keeping these magnificent creatures. Our intensive courses cover the following.
Housing,Coping Beaks,Health Care,Feather Imping (Repairing), Equipment Making, Training, Fitness Training, Diet,and Entering Onto Quarry and hunting technique.
Our courses come with a back up service allowing you to call us with any queries you may have 24/7 once you have purchased your bird of prey. We also breed a number of fine Hawks and Falcons for your first Hawk plus we can supply all the equipment needed.
If you decide that Falconry is for you then we can give you further free advice on any aspect of Falconry and Birds of Prey and can even provide you with your first Hawk.With over 20yrs of experience flying birds of prey in suffolk and practicing falconry in suffolk.

Eagle Experience
Our Eagle experience begins in late September 2010.We are the only Falconry experience in Suffolk to offer guests the chance to fly Eagles.
Experience the rare opportunity to get close to these magnificent creatures and learn more about each of them. Once you are confident with the birds you can progress on to actual handling and flying of the eagles. The types of eagles flown will depend on the time of year, but species include Golden Hybrids, Russian Steppe Eagles and Mountain Hawk eagles. All the eagles fly free so remember to duck when you spot an eagle stooping straight towards you. On the full day events lunch is included at one of Lavenham's fantastic pubs or restaurants.Lavenham falconry is the formost falconry in suffolk with over 20 different birds of prey available to fly.
